Hakone Country Club
Welcome to the Hakone Country Club.
Set in the middle of picturesque Hakone Highland, the club is uniquely gifted with a surprisingly vast variety of fauna and flora as well as the hot springs that the region is famous for. The club was founded in 1954 and was designed by Shiro Akahoshi, a renowned golf architect in Japan, who inherited golf design philosophy from Alister MacKenzie. The course has hosted the Japan Women’s Open in 2002 as well as other premier tournaments over the years.
Visitors to the club are greeted with 360-degree panoramic views of the inside of the caldera that encircles the valley, which stretches 11km north-south and 8km east-west. If you turn around, you will find Mt. Kamiyama (1,438m) towering over the club and the Owakudani volcanic area.
Hakone country club was formed in July 1954.
The course lies in the middle of Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Park, and on the bottom of a caldera (radius approx. 8km) that is surrounded by the beautiful vistas with an elevation of approx. 1,000m.
